I’ve been taking time going through all my old CDs one by one. It’s one of the things I wanted to do when I was here – go through all my music collection. I particularly want to put all my old albums on hard disk.
Starting with the CDs is easiest – they need very little work to convert them. Vinyl is a lot more work – getting rid of the mechanical noise isn’t the same for any two albums.
Anyway – I digress. I was really astounded this weekend by some of the CDs I started to play. I can’t actually remember listening to them before – and some are so good. When I start filling the music page I’ll list some.
I played the last concert of Larry Norman this weekend. He was so strange at times – but his music really made a difference to me. A lot of people talk about So long Ago the Garden as being his best album, well I guess that’s possibly correct – but I still like Something New Under the Son, the blues in that has made me feel good a lot of times.Such a pity he’s gone. I only got to see him a few times in concert, and bumped into him only once (on a wooden plank crossing a stream in a Northampton field).
